Manganese is a silver-gray metal, much like iron, but softer than iron. And once manganese contains a small amount of impurities-carbon or silicon, it becomes very hard and brittle.
Silicon manganese 6014 means manganese ¡Ý 60%, silicon ¡Ý 14, and in the national standard ,it refers to FeMn64Si16.
Silicon manganese alloy is a kind of bulk solid with metallic luster and it has the specific gravity of 6.0-6.4, melting point of 1517k, boiling point of 2378k, melting heat of 7.37KJ/mol and evaporative heat of 22500KJ/mol.
Mn-Si alloy have low melting point, large particles, and easy to float , good deoxidation effect and other advantages.
