Silicon Manganese Alloy
Product Description:
Manganese is a silver-gray metal, much like iron, but softer than iron. If manganese contains a small amount of impurities-carbon or silicon, it becomes very hard and brittle. However, pure metallic manganese is not very widely used because it is more rusty than iron. In humid air, it becomes gray and loses its luster in a short while-a layer of manganese oxide is formed on the surface.
Silicon manganese is an alloy composed of manganese, silicon, iron and a small amount of carbon and other elements. It is a kind of ferroalloy with a wide range of uses and large output, and it ranks second in the amount of ferroalloy products for electric furnace.
Main Application:
1.To be used as alloying agent in steel making and casting
2.To be used as double deoxidizer in steel making
3.To be used as composite desulfurizer in steel making
4.To be used as spheroidization agent in iron casting.
5.To be used as reducing carbon of ferromanganese in smelting
